About Neptune OEM
The Neptune Office of Emergency Management and the Emergency Management Coordinator was created under APP. A-9-40.1, which states that “In every municipality the mayor, or commissioner responsible for disaster control shall appoint an Emergency Management Coordinator. The duties of the Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the planning, activating, coordinating and the conduct of disaster control operations within the municipality.
In the Township of Neptune, the Office of Emergency Management is a fully functional and operational organization. Our mission is to support our residents, visitors and first responders to ensure that as a community we work together to build, sustain and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate all hazards.
The Office of Emergency Management oversees a variety of emergency response and support operations, which include,
- Station 34-9 Emergency Response Group
- Hazardous Materials Team
- Special Operations Rescue Team
- Area Network of Shore Water Rescue Responders (A.N.S.W.E.R.) Water Rescue Team
- Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
- Incident Management
In addition, Neptune OEM works cooperatively with state, county and municipalities in our region.
